“Marva Collins comes along and reframes the question. And her question becomes ‘how can we cultivate the seed of greatness in our students.” (0:04:52)

If a student has depression or other mental illness, we can’t just tell him that depression is wrong, you can’t do that. This method of correcting errors from the negative side cannot always be used. Instead, like the teacher, tell him what is right and what is beautiful and shining in life. In this way, students can understand the beauty of themselves and the world from a positive perspective, and can really help them out of difficulties.

“Happiness does not just come spontaneously when we negate unhappiness.” (0:25:34)

This sentence is very reasonable. From my perspective, life is like a ruler with scale. It is not enough to just go back to the origin from the negative half. To get real happiness, we must make changes and move forward to the positive side. These methods of change are what we really need in life. I think it is also very useful  to call on universities to teach these courses to discover the shining points of people, which was just like the author said.
